“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” – Mark Twain
During senior year there are two main questions: “Where are you going to school? What are you going to major in?”
And each time, you may cringe with anxiety since you might not know the answers. Figuring out what careers to pursue after high school or once you get to college can be exciting…and difficult. There are countless options and many people feel overwhelmed, especially when it comes to the significance of making the ‘right’ choice. Large university or small private school? Vocational or community college? Gap year or not? Move away or live at home? Internship or international study? We help you navigate these decisions.

“This is a fun process!”
- First, we meet in person and chat in a comfortable, get-to-know-you setting.
- Second, you complete a few assessments that help us discover your unique interests and strengths. Over the years, we’ve identified a few analyses that really work, the ones that provide the best portrait of who you are and what you like to do.
- Third, we meet again to review careers for which you are best suited.
You’ll work collaboratively with your coach to develop goals and plan your career exploration process.
The Outcome is Worth It
Through this process, you’ll learn more about yourself and how your unique combination of interests and talents align with careers that are fitting, stimulating, and fulfilling. You’ll work one-on-one with your coach to review career options via a customized report that is all about you. You may even be introduced to alternatives that you haven’t considered before.
Career exploration takes place on a spectrum and over time. This is where you really get to learn about the careers that you’re interested in. You’ll start by using Virtual Job Shadow. From there our coaches can help you delve into more specific career exploration activities such as talking to someone who works in a field you’re interested in or observing them in action as they work (a real life job shadow!).
